Merry Christmas Book Nook Members!

Knoxie’s Book Nook is holding a book drive for our local United Way of Dickinson’s “Angel Tree” Program. We’re hoping to donate a book to each of the approximately 300 kids on the tree! I will document the entire process here!Usborne Book and More will match our contributions by 50% so no donation is too small!

Angel Tree Book Drive

Take a tag from our angel tree for a boy or girl in our area who is in need of new books to read and learn. Please return your generously donated, new, unwrapped books to the library. Do not feel limited to the tags on the tree. You may donate any kind of new books for children ages 0-17. Monetary donations for books are also accepted and appreciated.

Cookies for a Cause

Guests young and old can purchase a delicious Sugar or Gingerbread cookie to decorate and eat for only $2. Every cookie sold will generate a donation of $1 to the Dickinson United Way so the money raised stays in our community. All proceeds go to United Way of Dickinson. All funds raised here, stay here.

Giving Tree (preteen & teen gift drive)

So often preteens and teens in lower-income families are forgotten during the holiday season. So Serendipity and United Way of Dickinson are partnering together this holiday season to ensure that local children between the ages of 12 and 17 are not forgotten. When you stop by Serendipity please donate a teen appropriate gift or gift card either from Serendipity themselves or a gift card from somewhere else. Help make a local preteen or teen’s Christmas dreams come true.

3rd Annual Festival of Trees

Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021 AT 10 AM – 5 PM

Fun Free Event For the Whole Family!

A fun community event for families to gather and celebrate the holiday season. Admission is free, but we do ask you to bring a donation that will help us help children aging out of foster care and children who are in high school with no parental support (toilet paper, food, and other small necessities).

Christmas tree auction to benefit multiple local nonprofits. All donations stay local!

Activities:

* Decorated trees & wreath viewing/ silent auction 10am – 3pm
* Spotlight nonprofit (Special Olympics)- booth and silent auction 10am – 3pm

11th Annual Empty Bowls Fundraiser

Saturday, Nov 13, 2021 AT 11 AM – 1 PM

Help Fight hunger locally in Stark and Dunn Counties. Pick out a beautiful handcrafted bowl and then savor a homemade meal of soup and bread. Proceeds go to local nonprofits who feed the needy in our community. Bowls range in price from $15 to $150 per bowl, the meal is included in the price of the bowl.

Special thanks go to the artists donating their time and bowls; Dickinson State University Art Department (DSU students, faculty, and staff); Badlands Art Counsel, Sacred Heart Monastery, Assumption Abbey, Cash Wise Foods, Pepsi and to the Ramada Grand Dakota Lodge.

Captain Under Pants Says….Drop Your Drawers!
Be a SUPER HERO, just like the star of Dav Pilkey’s young readers’ books. Drop of packages of NEW underwear, diapers, t-shirts, socks, sweatpants, or other clothing items. All sizes for boys and girls needed.

August 30th through September 30th. Donations go to local public elementary schools and United Way of Dickinson’s Family Support families in need.

Taco Bell Renovation Auction 09/01/2021 – 09/30-2021

Beginning today, Border Foods will be hosting an online silent auction for memorabilia from the Dickinson restaurant and other Taco Bell items. Residents can bid farewell to the old restaurant and get excited for the new renovations and ownership by bidding on items starting now until September 30, with all proceeds benefitting the United Way of Dickinson.

North Dakota’s first Born Learning Trail Spanish Version Installment

It is with sorrow that we have decided to reschedule the installation of the Spanish version of our Born Learning Trail. We were recently victims of the TikTok trend going around in which people are stealing from schools and parks. We had 3 signs stolen from the trail. We do not want our community to lose more of their beautiful signs. We will announce a new date in the near future. Thank you all in advance for your understanding.

Devon Energy and iHeart Media, in partnership with United Way of Dickinson, need your help with the 3rd annual Fill the Bus campaign, an event to collect school supplies to send area students and teachers back to school with the supplies they need. Please bring your new school supplies or monetary donations on Tuesday, August 17th. Drop off your donations from 8am – 8pm and enjoy complimentary snacks and refreshments.

The Bakken Inflatable 5K is a fun family event where everyone is a kid at heart. It features a 5K course with seven inflatable obstacle stations, a new mechanical bull, a gaming bus for kids, pre-teens, teens, and those who just love to game, and delicious food vendors! Any age and fitness level can enjoy the obstacle course.
